The Biggest Upcoming Events in the World of Poker – July 2018
We just passed the halfway mark of the year and have already experienced a benchmark year of poker competitions. As we head into the next half, it’s time to find your bearings to make sure you don’t miss any of the remaining action.
First of all, if you haven’t been tuning into the WSOP Main Event, you’ve been missing out. The final table was finalised in dramatic fashion when Nicalos Manion crushed both Yueqi Zhu and Antoine Labat’s pair of kings with two Aces. Labat goes into the next round crippled while Zhu was eliminated. Needless to say, we won’t touch our dials as we go into the final days until the climax on the 14th of July.
The ETP is slowly simmering to life with its two most iconic events coming up in the months ahead. First off, we will head to its most famed arena: the Casino Barcelona. Next, we’ll be heading to the grand finale at the Atrium in Prague. The ETP is a welcome addition to our poker viewing after it took a year off in 2017.
Often overlooked, the APT (Asian Poker Tour) is a fast-growing tour that’s quickly catching up to its western-facing counterparts. Tune in from August 8 to August 19 for one of its best legs, the ATP Korean Championship at the Paradise City Casino located in Incheon, South Korea.
If online poker is more your thing, it’s almost the time of year for the world’s biggest online poker tournament: the World Championship of Online Poker. Hosted by PokerStars in September each year, this tournament will once again feature a huge guaranteed prize pool of tens of millions of pounds. The main events will be broadcast live.
Last but not least, the CPPT (Card Player’s Poker Tour) is heading to the famous and iconic Ocean’s Eleven Casino from the 26th of July to the 29th. You’ll be able to live stream all the action from the CPPT website.
